During a crisis, leadership is more important than ever.

During a crisis, leadership is more important than ever.

I read a very interesting article in the Harvard Business review that stresses on the need for business leaders to think beyond survival and open their minds to the many opportunities that the Covid crisis might create. My key takeaways:
This is a good time to source potential candidates from target sectors and companies who may now be disengaged, jobless or open to change.

Remember, if you dont take care of your employees someone else will.

Interview and check references remotely with the same rigour you would in person. This will always have a huge impact on your ability to hire great talent

Pay attention to every single candidates recruitment experience

Don’t ignore the sourcing, retaining, and development of in-house talent. We have seen that high performers always get jobs and will quit if not engaged

An Organisations ability to bounce back will solely depend on its people

For companies who are looking at cutting employee engagement & learning budgets as a short-term fix, please don’t. When we (and we will surely) emerge from this unfolding tragedy, it will be the long-term thinkers who not only survive but also thrive. To read the article click on this link
